(2013)  Offset Lithography Sculpture

Stacks are printed on an AB Dick 360, a 1960’s offset lithography press, typically used for mass-producing books, newspapers and posters.  I reutilized the press and explored its mechanization by creating flats of overlapping cyan, magenta, yellow, and black that grow over thousands of sheets of paper. I developed a way to increase the amount of ink applied to each consecutive page. Overlapping color fields were created by running each page through the press multiple times. Each finished piece consists of roughly 2,500 sheets of paper.
